project 1:
Youth Services Renovation
8,400 sf / $450,000 final project budget|cost
scope:
The youth services renovation is the first project in a 3 phase renovation at the Michigan City Public Library. The youth services collection & staff offices were relocated, allowing for more patron seating and increased visibility of the youth department from other areas in the library. A maker space was created to increase the diversity of the library’s programming and an existing toddler area was revamped to add activities, seating & a large graphic. Providing ample color was a main project goal to visually separate the youth department from the rest of the library. Future projects will include the renovation of the adult services department & computer labs.
